FAQ

What sets Unified Therapies apart from other clinics?

The multidisciplinary team at Unified Therapies has the ability to effectively assess and treat a wide range of diagnoses and obstacles that our clients face. We work closely with each individual to determine a treatment plan to include one or more applications of care, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology and Mental Health Services.

What is the average length of a treatment session?

Sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes, depending on the goals and complexity of the patient. If multiple disciplines are serving the client, services will be delivered during the same visit with consecutive appointments. For example, if the client is being seen to address Parkinson’s Disease, they may see the Physical Therapist followed by the Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist. During that time, a caregiver might meet with the Mental Health Therapist to address concerns with depression or anxiety that may occur in caregivers living with a spouse or parent with Parkinson’s Disease.

Do you have multiple locations?

Our practice is located at 145 Charlotte Hwy in Fairview, NC. We see the majority of our clients on-site at our practice. Many of our services can be accessed through our Telehealth Services, allowing us the ability to continue care when geography, illness or inclement weather could otherwise disrupt treatment. Our Community Outreach Program includes support groups, trainings and educational workshops at facilities at multiple locations around Asheville. Please contact our team at 828-414-2368 to learn more.

Unified Therapies is a direct access practice. Individuals seeking Physical Therapy can be seen at our practice without a physician referral, saving them time and money. Before direct access, the first step was to see a primary care physician, who then referred a client to a specialist, who may have referred the client to physical therapy. This route could delay rehabilitation weeks or months and involve several insurance co-pays.
